The resurfaced controversy has reignited after a new book alleged the argument began over messages sent by the French president to Golshifteh Farahani.

      As the aircraft doors opened at Hanoi airport, Macron was seen turning toward his wife before Brigitte suddenly appeared to push him in the face. The French president quickly turned toward the cameras, smiled and waved before the couple exited the aircraft together.

      But the incident has now resurfaced after French journalist Florian Tardif published fresh allegations in his new book, A (Nearly) Perfect Couple.

      According to Tardif, the argument aboard the presidential plane allegedly began after Brigitte Macron saw messages sent by the president to Iranian actress .

      The political editor for Paris Match claimed he interviewed more than 70 sources while researching the book. Speaking to RTL radio, Tardif alleged Macron had developed what he described as a “platonic love affair” with the actress over several months, as per a report by The US Sun.

      Among the messages reportedly referenced in the book was one saying,“you are very beautiful”.

      Tardif claimed the exchanges created growing tension between the presidential couple and eventually led to the now-infamous disagreement becoming visible to the public during the Vietnam trip. The author insisted he had carefully verified the information before publication.

      Brigitte Macron’s representatives quickly denied the new allegations after excerpts from the book began circulating in French media. Her team told Le Parisien, “Brigitte Macron categorically denied this account directly to the author on March 5.”

      They also strongly rejected the suggestion that she had looked through her husband’s phone, adding that she “never looks at her husband’s mobile phone.”

      The renewed debate has once again drawn global attention to the Macrons’ relationship, which has long fascinated both supporters and critics because of their unusual personal history and 25-year age gap.

      Over the years, the French president and first lady have repeatedly found themselves targeted by online conspiracy theories, rumors and deepfake campaigns.

      The Vietnam incident even prompted comments from international political figures. Donald Trump later mocked Macron during a White House speech, joking that the French president was “still recovering from the right to the jaw.”

      The remark triggered backlash across France, including from some of Macron’s fiercest political opponents, who condemned the personal attack.
