Trump's Approval Rating Drops to Historic Low of -17 in Second Term

President ’s approval rating has dropped to -17, the lowest level of his second term and the weakest recorded for any US president in the office, an analysis by AF Post noted.

The anchor explained the trend saying “This is the lowest of his term, the lowest of his second term. We’re talking about minus 17 points, 17 points underwater.”

He further noted though his second term started in a positive note, his approval rating declined sharp thereafter. “Unlike in Donald Trump’s first term, in which he was negative basically throughout his entire term, Trump actually started off in positive territory here in his second term, but now he’s at the lowest point of his second term”

Explaining how he is currently rated against previous Presidents, he said, I went back, and I looked at all of the presidents at this point in a presidency, all of them, all of them at this point in a presidency, and guess what? Donald Trump is the lowest ever, the lowest ever at this point in a presidency, lower than Joe Biden, lower than , lower than .”

What other polls said?

Meanwhile, poll conducted by University of Massachusetts Amherst noted that 33% of respondents approved of his performance in office, while, 62% disapproved, out of them 53% said they ‘strongly disapprove’. Also a growing number of Americans expressed that oppose his administration’s military actions against Iran.

These 33% of respondents said they “somewhat” or “strongly” identified with (MAGA). This affiliation is higher among Republicans at 77%, as compared with just 4% of Democrats.

Even a poll by Fox News showed rising disapproval rating. The data put Trump’s approval rating at 41%, while 59% of registered voters expressed disapproval of his performance—the highest level of disapproval seen across both his terms in office.

Support among Republicans also declined – from 92% in March last year to 84% this year.
